Carillion installed the first large-scale dnp Supernova Infinity front-projection screen in the UK as part of a futuristic integration at the EMEA headquarters of Polycom, the global leader in telepresence, video and voice solutions.

Project Scope

A driving factor in the upgrade was the need to maximise the ability to show the new HD standard with a high-brightness/high-contrast media display. Carillion recommended the modular Supernova Infinity for its active high-contrast filter which enables infinite large-scale displays to be created and offers a seamless viewing experience, soft-edge blending, full colour balance conservation and compatibility with standard projectors. Three ceiling-mounted projectors were selected for their silent operation so as not to disturb the ceiling mic arrays.

The re-equipped Centaurus Room provides a high-definition facility for partner events and customer briefings. New high-definition capability combines with the room design to create a real ‘wow factor’, including screens set into a chic piano-black acrylic ellipse to complement the Polycom brand. The viewing experience is compelling with vivid, sharp pictures with up to seven times the contrast and double the brightness of conventional front projection screen images. The Centaurus Room – which can extend to a 70-seat theatre – has become an invaluable asset as a demonstration suite for Polycom’s new generation of products.

“We took the Supernova Infinity on Carillion’s recommendation and have received nothing but positive feedback from our visitors, stating how impressed they are.” - Ray Kemble, Polycom Demonstration Operations Engineer (EMEA)
