Meet Andrea Platania: New AV specialist driving innovation at Carillion

We're excited to announce that Andrea Platania has joined Carillion Communications as the newest member of our Commissioning Team! Andrea comes to us with a Sound Design degree from the renowned European Design Institute in Milan and experience working in live events and art installations. His impressive technical background caught the eye of our Managing Director during his interview through the AVIXA Xchange programme, where Andrea stood out for his expertise and enthusiasm.

In his new role as a Commissioning Engineer, Andrea works closely with Fernando Silva, a Senior Commissioning Engineer at Carillion, who also serves as his mentor. This structured support is helping him to settle in, and it's clear he's made an impact in just his first month here. Andrea has been actively involved in site surveys, providing insights that have been invaluable to the design team while also assisting with client communication and team training. As a natural communicator, he enjoys the client-facing aspects of the role and strives to exceed client expectations, a goal that aligns with the values at Carillion and his career aspirations of managing his own team in the future.

With Fernando mentoring him, Andrea is already tackling complex technical tasks, helping train other team members and providing insights for the Design Team. He's excited about the day he'll be able to take on more leadership responsibilities and start attending sites independently. This proactive approach, combined with his passion for learning and helping others, makes him an ideal addition to the Carillion team.
