Sunday 30th October saw George Green U8's arrive at Cherry Orchards in Burnham to play against Burnham Junior Cubs Yellows.

On their last outing, Burnham lost a close game being edged out 4 vs 3 so they had a point to prove and prove they did.

Straight from the start the passing was brilliant and the team work immense and Jeevan got 2 quick goals which set the tone for the day.

The whole team played a part in the game even without the influential player Declan Evans. The game finished with Burnham scoring 9 and George Green 2

A great game to be involved in for everyone

6/11/16

Sunday 6th brought a Thames Valley Development Weekend which meant that Burnham Juniors faced 2 teams. Townmead youth of West Drayton and Delaford Colt Reds of Iver who we lost 4vs3 to only a matter of weeks ago.

2 very tough opponents that both wanted to reach the first final of the session. Up first Townmead Youth who started off really quickly they took the lead 3 times in the match but Burnham fought back every time with the game finishing 3vs3.

After a quick break we were back in playing Delaford Colts, this time the team played the kind of football that makes the coach really proud, they worked so hard for each other and played some fantastic football. This time Burnham were just too strong and ended up winning 3vs1.

All we needed to get the final was a draw or a Delaford colts win, a really close game entailed in which Delaford came out on top with a 1vs0 score line.

The boys make theirs first final and the first time of asking, which will be played on Sunday 20th November.

Thames Valley Development Final on Sunday 27th Nov

Burnham Juniors faced Windsor Owls Blue in the final of TVDF, the 2 teams had not played each other this season and Wow what a game.

Burnham got off to a great start when Jeevan Khera scored in the first quarter of the 40-minute match. They really controlled the game from the off and the pressure got to the Owls. As the time ticked away Burnham grew in strength and looked really solid.

Declan Evans who has been great in Midfield all year was struggling with a groin injury but played in goal to help the team, after half time Dylan Phelan finished a fine team move with a fantastic finish to make it 2 vs nil and it looked comfortable.

However with only 6 minutes remaining in the match the Owls best player on the day Roberto scored a goal even though Declan made a fine double save he was unable to get back up to save the third shot. The pressure was on and with the final kick of the match the Owls went on the attack again and scored. Burnham Heads went down but with the hope of extra time, we had to start again.

Straight from the off, the coach put out the most attacking team and it paid off with young Riley Barber scoring his first goal for his new team after transferring from Taplow United in the summer Right Place Right Time. Windsor couldn’t recover this time and the match finished in extra time with Burnham winning their first final.
