A year on from opening its northern region office in Manchester, Carillion Communications is in tune with the region’s growth objectives and is helping local businesses to achieve their goals through a wide range of audio visual technology.
A constantly growing company with a reputation for service and quality
Carillion Communications has been a leader in audio visual technology for more than twenty five years. The company has enjoyed year-on-year growth serving clients in the UK, in Europe and around the world from its headquarters in Berkshire.
The company has an excellent reputation for design and installation, and won the prestigious AV Awards for its international work with DFID. Latterly Carillion Communications has established itself among the most knowledgeable providers of collaborative technologies.
A base in the north of England to provide local advice and service
In the last few years Carillion has expanded as more specialists have joined the established core of respected Carillion AV experts.
Carillion’s ethos is built on strong teamwork and a customer-first outlook. The company opened its northern office in 2017 with the intention to help businesses with locally-based expertise as quickly and directly as possible.
Local understanding, multiple objectives
Carillion’s northern office supports a wide variety of customer objectives and today’s technology supports diverse strategies.
In a time of economic downturn, some companies focus on being more efficient and working smarter, which is where video conferencing and remote-working technologies help. Companies aiming to expand need to make faster, better decisions, which brings collaborative technologies into play, such as interactive conferencing whiteboards.
The ever-present imperative for companies to be competitive is served by AV technologies that help brands to stand out in the market, empower staff and communicate better with customers.
A full suite of technical capabilities on site
The Manchester office replicates the core skills to be found at Carillion’s head office: including, technical consultancy, design, maintenance and programming.
John Tipling, Carillion Communications Northern Region Manager, says, “We have the full suite of skills to deliver the advice and service customers need from an audio visual company. The beauty now, in a world that values immediacy, is that we can be extremely responsive.”
Carillion’s northern team works with progressive organisations throughout the north of England and Scotland.
Supporting the region’s growth strategies
As of 2015, the gross value added (GVA) of the Northern English economy was £316 billion, and if it were an independent nation, it would be the tenth largest economy in Europe.
Across the north of England there are initiatives in support of a ‘northern powerhouse.’ Notable spokespeople include the Mayor of Manchester, Andy Burnham, and the Mayor of Tees Valley, Ben Houchen. The goals for a northern powerhouse are growth and regeneration.
Carillion Communications is helping all types of organisation around the region to achieve measurable performance improvements, in sectors that include retail, transport and finance.
One of Carillion’s recent case studies focuses on banking customer, Principality. Principality is investing in AV by adopting video conferencing to enable its advisors to schedule more customer meetings and installing digital signage to improve its High Street presence and provide more information to customers.
Audio visual technologies today cover a huge range of capability and purpose. Core business communications are catered for in platforms such as Skype for Business and the emerging, cloud-based, Teams. We see more high-impact installations such as video walls in front of house locations, in reception areas. In staff areas such as canteens, huddle spaces and IPTV are becoming common as business and social enablers.
John Tipling says that the company is proud of what its achieved in its first year by bringing a wealth of AV experience and knowledge to the region. “In a short time, Carillion has become a fixture in the northern AV landscape. We set ourselves high standards and the team has successfully helped customers to improve operational performance, or improve their brand presence or improve profits through a wide range of AV technology.”
